Day 03 : Delhi to Agra 4/5 Hrs drive ( Friday Taj Mahal is Closed )

  • On arrival in the city of Agra we start the tour with our First halt at Sikandra It is the mausoleum of Emperor Akbar. It represents his philosophy and secular outlook, combining the best of Hindu and Muslim architectures in a superlative fusion. Completed in 1613 A.D., it is one of the well preserved monument. Proceed onto the main Attraction of Agra Taj Mahal…. The Taj Mahal, the world-renowned monument to love “wonder of the world” beautifully crafted with white marble world famous is a mausoleum located in Agra, India, that was built under Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife in 1630 to enshrine her mortal remains. Taj is known for the finest example of Mughal architecture with a style that combines elements from Turskish, Islamic and Persian.

  • Then we proceed to view one of the most spectacular Forts of the Mughal Heritage Agra Fort. Agra Fort is an Unesco World Heritage site built alongside the Yamuna river located in Agra. It is stretches about 2.5 kms. Agra fort one of the important fort in India. It is also known as Lal Qila, and Agra Fort.. Akbar chose this city on the bank of River Yamuna as his capital and proceeded to build a strong citadel for the purpose. Eemperor Shah Jahan, had built the Taj, was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb in the Agra Fort where he had a view on the building erected for his deceased wife. It took 8 yeas and huge amount of money to complete its construction. Agra Fort in Agra contains beautiful mosques - Nagina Masjid , Meena Masjid, Sheesh Mahal, Khas Mahal and Meena Bazar.

Day 04 : Agra to – Fathepur Sikri – 01 Hrs Drive and proceed to Bharatpur.

  • After Breakfast Drive to Bharatpur en-route visiting Fatehpur Sikri an eerily abandoned capital from the Mughal Empire between 1570 and 1586. Akbar built this city to celebrate the birth of his son and future heir to the throne, Emperor Jahangir. While Akbar is believed to have been illiterate, he took great interest in the arts and architecture; Fatehpur Sikri is one of his masterworks. Sadly, it served as capital for little more than a decade, eventually abandoned for lack of accessible water.

Day 05 : Bharatpur Sightseeing Tour

Day 06 : Jaipur Sightseeing Tour

  • After Breakfast Start with an exhilarating excursion to Amber Fort perched on top of a hill. A royal ride on elephant (subject to availability) up the hill like the Maharajas of past times and visit the Jagmandir (the hall of victory). Perched on a hillside on the outskirts of town, the palace was constructed in the 1590s by Maharaja Man Singh, the commander of Akbar’s army, and was largely motivated by the highly defensible location.

  • This is a beautiful and very well preserved structure, built on four levels and surrounded by ruins, which served as the backdrop for the Mira Nair movie “Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love.”

  • Afternoon: View the grand Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). This magnificent structure was built to allow the royal ladies of the palace to discretely watch the grand processions along the main street, City Palace and impressive Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built in the early 1700s by Maharaja Jai Sing II, the great warrior-astronomer to which this city owes its name.

Day 13 : Mount Abu Sightseeing Tour

  • After breakfast, visit the world famous Dilwara Jain Temple, Nakki Lake and Brahmin Kumari Ashram. Dilwara Temple are a group of remarkable Jain temples. Among the finest examples of these are two temples in which the art of carving marble has reached unsurpassed heights.

  • The older of the temples is the 'Vimal Vasahi', built in 1031 and dedicated to the first tirthankar, Adinath. In the front of the temple stands the 'House of Elephants', with figures of elephants marching in procession to the temple entrance.

  • The later built 'Tejpal Temple' is dedicated to Neminath, the 22nd tirthankar, and was built in 1230 by the brothers Tejpal and Vastupal. The carving is so fine that, in places, the marble becomes almost transparent.

  • Nakki Lake is virtually located in the heart of Mount Abu and is a big attraction with tourists. The lake takes its name from the legend that it was scooped out by a god, using only his nails, or nakh. While takeing a stroll along the lake, look for the strange rock formations. On the lake there is a dilapidated concrete boat-shaped snack bar.

  • After breakfast This district of Gujarat brings to mind a unique landscape with salty marshlands and no vegetation. Situated on the Gulf of Kutch, leading to the Arabian Sea, it is also known as the Rann of Kutch.

  • The word Kutch or Kachchh, means tortoise in Sanskrit, and interestingly the shape of the region is rather like a tortoise. The word also means something that becomes alternately wet and dry, and it is true that the Rann of Kutch becomes submerged under water during the rains.

  • Kutch is the second-largest district in India after Leh. The headquarters of the district are at Bhuj town.   • Ajanta: Famous for its caves, Ajanta is one of the few historical and architectural marvels of India. The Ajanta group of caves, located deep within the Sahyadri hills above the Waghora, depicts the story of Buddhism that prevailed here during 200 BC to 650 AD.

  • Ellora: Ellora is one of the highly visited World Heritage sites of India. Just 30 kilometers Northwest of Aurangabad, Ellora is easily accessible from the nearby major towns. It houses 34 monasteries and temples with some exclusive uninterrupted sequence of monuments that date back from 600 to 1000 AD. The temples of Ellora are dedicated to Brahmanism, Jainism, and Buddhism. It also has some of the excellent stonework depicting the legends related to Lord Shiva.

Day 29 : Mysore Sightseeing Tour

  • The legend takes its name from a famous demon called Mahishasur, a great warrior who ruled as a tyrant until he was killed by the goddess Chamundeshwari.

  • Mysore is most famous for the imposing Royal Palace with a magnificent Durbar Hall, particularly splendid during the Dussehra Festival when the Maharaja's jewellery, studded gold throne (weighing 200 kgs) is on display.

  • Chamundeshwari temple perched on a hilltop is 2000 years old; Nandi Bull halfway to the hill is a 4.8 metre monolith.

  • 19 km north-west of Mysore is the KRS Dam and the ornamental Brindavan Gardens. The musical fountains and colourful lights transform this place into a fairly land in the evenings.

  • Ooty, an integral part of the great plateau occupying the junction of the Eastern and Western Ghats. Located at 2240m above sea level, Ooty is the headquarters of the Nilgris district. Apart from coffee and tea plantations, trees like confiers, eucalyptus, pine and the wattle dot the hillside in Ooty and its environ. The places of interest in Ooty include Botanical Gardens where "summer Festival" is held each during the month of May: the artificial lake and Dodabetta Peak which is the highest point in the district at a height of 2623m.

  • 17 km from Ooty is the first of these hills stations. Coonoor is a small town with an equable climate that has made it popular as hill resort. Tea and Tourism Festival is held here during Dec-Jan. the main attraction is the Sim's Park, a small well maintained botanical garden that has several varieties of plants not to be found in other hill stations.

  • Sightseeing Tour: proceed to Kanchipuram, Kanchipuram, 70 kms west of Mahabalipuram, this city of thousand temples lies. One of the seven sacred cities of Hindus, it was the capital of the early Cholas as far back as the 2nd century BC. Kanchi was a major seat of Tamil learning as well as an important place of pilgrimage for Buddhists, Jains and Hindus.

  • Apart from temples, the city is also famous for its silk weavers, settled here some 400 years ago and have given it an enviable reputation. Later proceed to Mahablipuram.

  • Mahabalipuram, driving south of Madras on the coast lies Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram), the ancient port of Pallavas. The pallavas have created many marvelous monuments with sculptural panels, caves, Monolithic Rathas and Temples. Krishna Mandapam, has a big bas relief, notable for its realistic representation.

  • The world's largest bas relief measuring 27m x 9m, whale back shaped rock contains figures of gods, demi-gods, men, beasts, birds and representation of the entire creation.

  • Visit temples like Sri Parthasarathy Temple and Kapaliswara Temple, both built by Pallavas in the 8th century AD and dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva respectively. Also visit San Thomas Cathedral Basilica (rebuilt in 1606) and the Theosophical Society headquarters.
